Mint green square with white sans serif font reading "Michelle Obama."

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is a lawyer, author, speaker, mother, public servant, and the first Black First Lady in American history.

At the age of 4 she could read at an advanced level, she skipped the second grade, attended a school for gifted children, studied at Princeton, and attended Harvard Law School. She grew up in Chicago and spent her post-graduate years working various community-focused positions and serving on many boards; in fact she continued to work until the day of her husband's inauguration! As First Lady she volunteered, advocated for healthy food and lifestyles, became a style icon, and symbol of hope for many Black girls everywhere.
