In 2017 Amanda became the nation's First Youth Poet Laureate. She graduated with honors from Harvard University in 2020. At the age of 22 she became the youngest known poet to speak at a presidential inauguration. Her recitation of her poem The Hill We Climb provided a poignant moment for a nation in turmoil following the riots at the Capital building two weeks prior.

“We lift our gazes not to what stands between us but what stands before us. We close the divide because we know, to put our future first, we must first put our differences aside.” (The Hill We Climb).
