October 27, 2023 - We’re excited to announce that today marks the launch of our paint-by-number kit collaboration with LAIKA—the award-winning innovative film studio behind Coraline (2009), ParaNorman (2012), The Boxtrolls (2014), Kubo and the Two Strings (2016), and Missing Link (2019).

Three designs will be available for sale exclusively through the launch of LAIKA’s new online shop.

The collaboration combines LAIKA’s imaginative style with Elle Crée's expertise in creating high-quality paint-by-number kits. Each of the three new paint-by-number kits feature iconic elements from LAIKA’s films meticulously translated into lines and numbers, accompanied by a corresponding set of high-quality paints and brushes.

This unique partnership offers LAIKA fans the opportunity to create their own hand-painted work of art featuring their favorite scenes and characters. The three kits available as part of this launch are: “The Pink Palace” depicting the Victorian architecture of the now iconic apartments where Coraline and her family live; “Norman’s Mondo Zombies Poster” showcasing a recreation of the “Screaming Woman” movie poster seen in Norman’s room—a fan favorite piece of set decor; and finally, “Kubo and Monkey in the Far Lands” recreating the snowy trek Kubo makes through the Far Lands on the Monkey’s back with origami birds swirling to life.

Elle Crée Founder and illustrator, Rachel Austen, says, “When LAIKA contacted me about creating kits for their new online store launch, it was an easy ‘yes.’ It’s been an honor to partner with an amazingly creative and imaginative studio known for such unique artistry, and even better that we are both Portland-based companies. We value local partnerships and work to source components for our kits as close to home as possible. For LAIKA’s fans, painting these kits enables anyone to feel like an artist and furthers Elle Crée’s mission to make the creation of art and the calming benefits of the creative experience accessible to anyone.”
